Spray Tanning Advice

Thinking of getting a professional spray tan? Our tanning advice below will give you the full run down of how to prepare for your treatment, the treatment itself and maintenance. A St.Tropez Tanning Treatment gives you a flawless tan with professional results.

How to prepare before treatment

• We recommend you have a patch test 24 hours prior to your St.Tropez tanning treatment.
• It is preferable not to apply any type of perfume, deodorant oraromatherapy oils on the day of your treatment as these may reduce the results.
• Waxing or shaving should be completed at least 24 hours prior to the treatment to reduce sensitivity. For laser hair removal please seek advice from your practitioner.
• For Spray Tanning, the evening before or morning of your treatment, exfoliate your entire body using St.Tropez Tan Enhancing Body Polish. Pay special attention to dry areas of your body such as hands, elbows, knees and feet.
• Wear dark, loose fitting clothing as not to disturb the tan when getting dressed. Please be aware the guide colour can stain light hair, man-made fibres and wool.

The Treatment

After Treatment Advice

• Your tan will begin to develop immediately after your treatment.
• Do not shower or bathe for a minimum of 4 hours after your treatment. The ideal development time is 8 hours.
• During the development time, do not participate any activity which may cause perspiration.
• It is fine to leave the guide colour on overnight and wash in the morning.
• Some guide colour may transfer to bed linen. This will wash out of cotton but not so easily from man-made fibres or wool.

Tan Maintenance Tips

• With the correct aftercare your tan can last longer. Apply St.Tropez Tan Enhancing Body Moisturiser daily to hydrate your skin and maintain your tan for longer.
• Exfoliate your skin with St.Tropez Tan Enhancing Body Polish every 3 days to ensure your tan fades evenly.
• After showering or bathing pat your skin dry rather than rubbing.
• Avoid swimming pools as chlorine can bleach the skin causing your tan to fade faster.

SVS Lashes

What Aftercare is required?

• Ensure your lashes do not come into contact with water for the first 48 hours after your SVS treatment, to allow the adhesive to cure
• Avoid steam, sauna, and swimming for 48 hours after treatment –remember this includes heat from an oven and steam from the kettle
• Do not use any mascara as this will cause the fans to close and may impede the maintenance of the treatment
• Try not to use liquid eyeliners, as these can affect the lashes
• Use only oil-free make up remover (ours is specially formulated one to use with SVS extensions)
• Be mindful how you sleep at night as sleeping face down may reduce the longevity and change the appearance of the lashes
• Do not use lash curlers as this will cause your lashes to break
• Try not to rub or stroke your lashes, as this will transfer oil and bacteria onto them
• Take care when cleansing, moisturising and applying make-up that you don’t manipulate your lashes into different positions as this may cause them to loosen or fall off
• SVS lashes are a fan application method which is created using extra fine lash extensions, therefore, we do not recommend clients use any conditioning serums, as this will encourage the fans to close and stick together
• Brush your lashes daily to help the fans to look their best using a disposable mascara wand

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massages are a safe, accessible and convenient therapeutic treatment. It can provide instant relief from tension and stress symptoms, induce a state of calm, peace and tranquility and promote high levels of alertness and concentration. Indian Head Massages also provide relief from aches and pains, promote healthy hair and scalp as well as induce relaxation and a feeling of well-being.

This simple yet effective therapy uses a variety of techniques to manipulate the soft tissue. It is performed with the client in a seated position or if preferred, lying down, usually through light clothing and without the use of oils. The Therapist uses a range of different massage pressures and rhythms to stimuulate the head, neck, upper back and shoulder area as well as pressure points of the face. A typical massage will last between 30 and 45 minutes.

We recommend a monthly facial as that is how long it takes the skin to regenerate. Why not four times a year to feel nice and refreshed with each season?

Reiki

Nail Bio-Sculpture

What Aftercare is required?

• Wear gloves whilst doing the washing up, housework and gardening.
• Be careful when using insect repellants and sun lotions - Wipe clean after application.
• Moisturise your hands and nails daily. If you are always on the go, try the Evo Bio Sculpture Cuticle Cream.
• To ensure the ultimate shine, wipe over your nails with Evo wipes and then apply the High Gloss Top Coat.

The first 24 hours

• Reduce exposure to heat such as Sunbeds and Saunas.
• Avoid immersing your hands in water during activities such as Swimming and long soaks in the bath.

After Removal

Hair Removal

• No hot baths or showers for 24 hours.
• Do not use perfumed products such as soaps, make-up or lotions for 24-48 hours.
• Do not sunbathe, use sunbeds or heat lamps for 24 hours.
• Avoid wearing tight clothing.
• Avoid further heat treatments.

Hair Extensions

Here at Twilight Hair Studio, we are certified stylists in the application of Racoon International and Beauty Works Hair Extensions. The hair we use is:

To make sure that we have the best choices to create a truly bespoke look for everyone, we have trained and are certified in several methods of hair extension application.

Luxe Bond

Blending individual strands to create a bespoke extension which is then fixed to a tiny section of natural hair weight for weight using a unique bonding system. Maintenance appointments required every 6 weeks. Full Head Application takes approximately 3-4 hours.

This method of application can be used to create volume only or length and volume. Colour can also be added to your hair using different coloured hair. Bonds are transparent.

Tapes

A fine selection of hair pre-attached to a header tape. These are sandwiched and sealed in between sections of natural hair. Easy to apply and maintain and so discreet the hair can be worn up or down. Can be worn for up to 4 weeks before they need to be removed, re-taped and re-applied. Application takes approximately 1-2 hours.

Tapes are a fast and effective method of application. Fantastic for adding volume, length, and colour. Hair can be worn up or down.

Weaves/Wefts

A collection of strands of hair that are woven onto a fine strip ready to be custom cut and sized to fit your head and attached to natural hair with aluminium rings or can be sewn in. Maintenance 6-8 weeks. Can add volume, length and colour, best worn down or loosely back. Fast Application takes approximately 1-2 hours.

Clip-ins

These are brilliant for an instant make-over and perfect for one-off occasions such as a wedding or a special party. Simply fix clip in extensions underneath sections of natural hair and then blend your hair through. They can be removed and re-used another time. Ponytail extensions are also available. A Colour Matching service is available at the salon for a fee of £10 refunded if we purchase your hair within 30 days of the colour matching service. Extensions must be paid for in full when ordered.

What Aftercare is required?

• Do not use the brush when hair is wet as this will stretch and buckle the hair which may cause matting. Only use wide tooth extension comb.
• Separate your bonds or links to ease out any tangles using fingers or wide tooth comb supporting bonds and tapes with your hand.
• Always dry bonds as soon as possible to prevent the bonds breaking down due to moisture contamination.
• Before washing, always brush hair to avoid problems with tangling and matting.
• Use shampoo recommended by your extensionist.
• Do not scrub. Gently massage your scalp in a downward zig-zag motion; avoid circular motions as these can cause tangles and matting.
• Rinse thoroughly. If you have tapes pay special attention to rinsing around the tapes to avoid scalp irritation.
• Don't be surprised at the weight of your extra hair when it is wet.
• Apply conditioner to shampooed and thoroughly rinsed hair.
• Use gentle finger strokes to smooth the conditioner through mid-lengths and ends, avoiding roots.
• After shamppooing, pat dry. If you have tapes press together before patting dry.
• Support Bond, Tape etc with hand whilst combing or brushing. Avoid excessive tension. Start brushing ends to mid lengths. DO NOT COMB OVER LINKS OR TAPES.
• Dry bonds, tapes or links first with no nozzle on dryer and once hair is nearly dry replace nozzle then continue to blow dry as normal.
• Tongs, hair irons and heated rollers may be used on our hair extensions with a temperature of up to 180°C. Use Heat Protect Product and avoid using heat too much as it can cause dryness, breakage and snapping.
• Always use a heat protection product as recommended by your extensionist.
• Extensions must be applied at least 2 weeks before holiday so you can get used to your new routine. Use Thermal Defence to protect against heat and UV to prevent heat damage.
• Strictly avoid salt water or chlorine as these will both damage your hair extensions. The chemicals have a bad effect on your hair and bonds can cause discolouration, dryness and matting.
• UV Rays will damage your hair extensions, therefore we recommend wearing a hat or head covering in the sun and using a UV Protection Product recommended by your extensionist.
• Maintenance appointments are essential.
